Audiolab 8200CD

This is a very goodCD-player/DAC that just received an update to mega-cool CD-player/DAC. If you analysethe player just from the front picture, you will think that this is just aregular CD-player, but if you take a look back you will see that it’s thatregular after all. Digital inputs (electrical, optical and USB) and some prettynice common outputs.

The DAC feature ofthis player is given a boost by the ESS chip set on a 32-bit level performancemaking the 8200CD one of the most best DAC on the market. It also has an evencooler feature : digital filters.

The power supply andthe display have also been given an update, now having a higher performancethan before. Also changes have been made on the circuit board by adding higherquality components.

It seems that the wordthat describes the new 8200CD is “high”. No reason to say that the music thatcomes out of it makes you feel every note with every fiber of your body.

Bellow you can read alist of the main features and other details about the product.

Resolution Audio Cantata 50

2010 brought some bad news. Resolution Audio has stop de production of our favorite CD players – the Opus 21. But the good news is that it was replaced with the Canta Music Centre . Now we have the next in line, a Canta amp in a matching box which contains British circuit design and a less-is-more ethos. It has 50w power output making it the least powerful solid-state amplifier seen in this price range. That is because Resolution Audio wanted the Cantata 50 to be less speaker sensitive- more powerful version of it’s predecessor.

Old school : Vamps

For those of you who thought that vamps are only to be seen in museums may want to think again. Not only that their not some old glass tubes that you saw in grandpa's old radio in your childhood, but their still used by some electronics producers in hi-fi's like amplifiers and even CD players.

They give an artistic, retro look and give us a
reminder about the old days when we need so little to feel so good. The pictures you see need no comment...

What’s the point in owning dozens of CDs which worth a lot of money if you never listen to them? The problem with CDs is time. Try timing how long it takes to pick a CD, load it in the CD player, play a snippet from a track or two, eject it and put it back where it came from. Then there is the problem of finding music. What if the track is on a compilation CD? What if you forgot where you place the CD? You need to keep your CDs near the player or you won’t play them. So you are forced to share your house with literally hundreds of cheap, dust collecting, plastic boxes.
